6 Smart Tips to Look Your Best in Your Pre-Wedding Photoshoot

Since most people take pre-wedding photoshoots only once in their lives, you would want the results to be perfect.

Aside from choosing a professional photographer with substantial experience to handle your pre-wedding photoshoot in Singapore, it’s important, on your end, to do your own pre-photoshoot prep to make sure you look your best.

After all, a stressed couple is an unhappy couple and you would want to capture only romantic times when you start your pre-wedding photoshoot.

We have listed 6 smart preparatory measures you can take to ensure that you look your best in your pictures. Read on to view them!

1. Choose Matte Makeup

Picture 1.png

While glass skin might be the in-thing in several parts of Asia, you wouldn’t want to look greasy in your pictures, especially if you opt for an outdoor pre-wedding photoshoot (Singapore’s weather can be extremely temperamental at times). You would want to avoid looking like a sticky mess.

With that in mind, try to use matte makeup instead.

Avoid applying too much glittery eyeshadow, highlighters and face oil before your pre-wedding photoshoot. Also, refrain from using cream blushers and compact powder as they could look cakey on camera. Use an oil-control primer as well as a mattifying loose powder to lock all your makeup in. Finish with a mattifying spray and you are good to go.

If you are going to engage a professional makeup artist to do your makeup that day, inform her that you want to go matte.

2. Dress in Colours that Complement Your Skin Tone

Picture3.png

Some people look great in certain colours, whereas others may not look the same.

Any model or designer would tell you that donning colours that clash with your skin tone is a big no-no. It’s important to be aware of your skin tone as well as what colours flatter and clash with your skin.

If you have warm skin tones, choose warmer colours like red, peach, amber and gold as well as “warmer” versions of cool colours like olive and moss.

On the other hand, if you have cool skin, opt for shades like rose, lavender and blue.

Then again, the rules aren’t set in stone. As long as you feel confident in the way you look, you will kill it in your pre-wedding photoshoot!

3. Bring along a couple of outfits

Picture4.png

You wouldn’t want all your pictures to look the same, so feel free to jazz them up by bringing along a couple of different outfits.

Feel free to switch outfits when moving from location to location.

Tip: make your pre-wedding photoshoot even livelier by incorporating some props at various locations!

4. Communicate with Your Photographer

Picture5.png

Communication is the foundation of all successful relationships and partnerships. Similarly, in order for you to have an excellent pre-wedding photoshoot with all the shots you want, it is important that you articulate this to your photographer.

Your photographer should have enough expert knowledge to provide some timely advice based on the types of shots you want to take. Just make sure you communicate your intentions clearly and comprehensively for a win-win pre-wedding photoshoot.

5. Plan Ahead

“Failing to plan is planning to fail.” – Alan Lakein

What types of poses do you want to have?

If you are going to have an outdoor pre-wedding photoshoot, do you have a wet weather plan?

Do you have a photoshoot theme?

Before the pre-wedding photoshoot commences, having backup plans and a rough idea of what types of pictures you want is a great way to avoid wasting time. Having a clear direction can help you capture stellar pictures

6. Calm Your Nerves Before the Shoot

Picture7.png

Whether you are someone who wears your heart on your sleeve or not, you would want to look relaxed and blissful in your pictures.

Even if it is your first time having a photoshoot, try to be calm and relaxed. You wouldn’t want to look stressed out in your wedding pictures!

Getting romantic pictures is no easy task and it’s highly tantamount to choose a skilful and competent photographer. We might be able to help. Click here to find out more.

5 Must-Take Wedding Shots on the Actual Day of Your Wedding in Singapore

On the actual day of your wedding, you would want to capture all the golden moments. But where do you start? Our photographer in Singapore listed 5 must-take pictures, view now!

actual-day-wedding.png

The big day is finally arriving!

After all the hard work and effort that went into planning, you would want to capture those golden moments on the actual day of your wedding so that you can look back and reminisce even when you are old and grey.

But what exactly are those golden moments?

While you may hire a professional photographer to handle most of the photo-taking during the actual day of your wedding, it’s important to give your photographer ample direction. This way, you can rest assured that you get all the key highlights of the actual day of your wedding.

We have rounded up some of the must-capture shots on one’s wedding day. Make sure you get your photographer to snap a picture or two of these key features as a memento from your special day.

1. Bridal Party

bridal-party.png

Most couples focus mainly on the family and newly-married couple on the actual day of their wedding, but the bridal party shouldn’t be forgotten.

The bridal party (or wedding party) will involve a group of people appointed by you and your partner who will have various roles and responsibilities on the actual day of your wedding. It includes the following peoples:

·       Maid of honour

·       Bridesmaids

·       Groomsmen

·       Ushers

·       Bride’s family

·       Groom’s family

·       Flower girl

·       Ring bearer

Your wedding party would be quite involved in the wedding planning process and you would definitely want to capture a group shot or two with them!

2. Candid Pictures

Posing for pictures might seem too unnatural. When you look back on your big day, you would want to view your guests have a ball of a time without having to line them up in front of a camera. Candid wedding photography is popular because it captures the emotions of the couple and guests. After all, organic and natural facial expressions are the most charming.

3. Natural Lit Pictures

You don’t need to be a professional photographer to understand why natural light is always preferred over artificial light. Natural lighting is a lot softer and flattering. It can also give the illusion of smoother skills as natural light would be able to smoothen imperfections on the skin.

Instead of having all your pictures taken indoors on the actual day of your wedding, get your photographer in Singapore to take some outdoor pictures with natural lighting.

4. Wedding Floral Decorations

Ah, who could forget about your whimsical and elegant wedding floral decorations?

Flowers have a natural way of bringing sophistication and glamour to any venue. When you look back on the best moments on the actual day of your wedding, you would want to recall the gorgeous ornaments that beautified your wedding venue.

Instruct your wedding photographer to capture the floral décor and bridal bouquet as you would definitely want to remember how lovely your wedding venue looked.

5. Wedding prep

Most guests would not know what happens behind-the-scenes.

There is a lot that takes places before the actual wedding: hair & makeup, self-care, putting on the wedding gown and much more!

Even though wedding prep might not be the most fun part of the wedding, it would definitely be something you can look back on and laugh at as you soak in nostalgia.

Get your photographer to snap some shots of the bride and groom getting ready and the bridal party helping out.

Competence and Experience are Everything

Having an idea of what you want your actual day wedding pictures to look like is one thing, getting them to look picturesque and insta-worthy is another.

Why not have a reliable photographer to do the heavy lifting for you?

That’s where we come in. Our photographers provide actual day wedding photography in Singapore, click here to find out more.
